Hmmm.. I suppose so, but what bothers me is the stupendous risk 
involved. If Peter got his timing wrong by a millisecond, Sirius 
would have killed him, and Peter by all accounts had no reputation 
for duelling. Also, he was still condemming himself to live as a rat 
indefinitely by this plan....
