You may have just found the point of having a vampire in the series. 
I've seen some posters ask "what's the point of having another 
outcast in the group at Hogwarts?  The role of outcast has been 
filled by Lupin."  This would give the role of vampire some purpose 
at least.  So far as I see it, the only reason otherwise for Snape 
to be a vampire would be because it would be neat to have another 
mythological creature to show up in the flesh instead of mentioned 
in passing.

However, as JKR has stated, I don't think anyone can be brought back 
from death.  Plus, I wouldn't want to see it-it'd be too much of 
a "fooled you- he's not dead" scenario. The scenario being Snape 
able to rescue Sirius if he could be talked into it.
