What is this and why is it here? I tried (in vain) to follow this post 
and
to find a discussion thread but finally gave up. A general 
question - aren't
there fanfiction sites for this type of flight of ideas?

ME:  I'm a relative newcomer, but I love this TBAY stuff.   As I 
understand it, TBAY stands for Theory Bay, and this is simply an 
alternate way  of presenting one's ideas, as if they were being 
talked about by characters actually living in "Theory Bay".  For 
instance, the preponderance of dog hair everywhere is a clue 
that these characters are serious Sirius fans.   Flights of ideas is 
what HP discussion is all about; TBAY adds to the fun.
