Interesting. I'd always read this as as Harry telling the SH it was wrong
for suggesting he'd be suited to Slytherin, since he was denying (or trying
to) having anything in common with Slytherins, despite grudgingly admitting
to DD he noticed that he shared several traits with Tom Riddle. He made his
choice not to go the way of Riddle when he told the hat "Not Slytherin.
Anything but Slytherin." But now that you mention it, the passage could be
read another way entirely... Like that infernal prophesy.
