I applaud the effort.

However, the problem I have with this is in the battle near the 
fountain of the MOM why wouldn't have DD have allowed LV to kill 
Harry (thus making him mortal) and THEN finish LV before he knew what 
hit him?

Game set match.

However... that didn't happen which leads me to beleive that the 
answer isn't necessairly in your explaination.
