Well, just for the sake of your peace of mind, I think I can help 
with what "You might" means, though it has no effect on your theory 
one way or the other. :)

Sirius wishes it was the full moon, and  Lupin says, "/You/ might," 
(emphasis mine) as in: "/You/ might wish it was full moon, but /I'm/ 
perfectly happy that it isn't, thanks."

Sirius was just being tactless, and Lupin was just giving him a 
nudge toward reality.
