Let's not forget, though, that there is one other person in that 
ward who could be a witness:  Lockhart!  And he's starting to regain 
his memory.  He might end up with more to contribute to the story, 
especially if he recalls a frequent visitor to the Longbottoms, 
either Snape or someone else.
