Oh, well spotted! as JKR would say. That's very intriguing, putting
two and two together as Snape himself would do. I wonder if you're
right, and if his treatment of Neville somehow reflects his resentment
of his own mother's condition. I don't dare speculate, but if you're
right, we may have the real reason, or yet another reason, for Snape's
defection from the DEs.

Can you provide a page reference or chapter title, please?
