Berit replies:

I think you might be influenced by movie contamination :-)  In the 
first class with Lockhart (the pixies), the first class with Lupin 
(the Boggart) and in the first class with Moody (the 3 unforgivable 
curses) the only student's names that are mentioned are Gryffindor 
names (Dean, Seamus, Parvati, Lavender, Hermione, Neville, Ron, 
Harry). So to me it looks like DADA is not taught as a double class 
but that there are only Gryffindor students present.
