charlie weasley: seeker genius?

I'm wondering if Charlie was only once on a cup winning team, and in his 
second year, and whether he left school at 16, having got an 
apprenticeship in Romania. Either of the above could shorten the timeline.
It strikes me that they could have had a 'team of one player' where 
they'd regularly get flattened, but Charlie always caught the snitch, 
and in the most improbable situations, hence his reputation.
