Although speeds on things like railway lines are tending to be in 
kph, the government hasn't dared suggest km or kph for ordinary road 
distances. They'd get lynched. Joe Public is not particularly pro-
metrication....

Geoff:
Around the solstice, the sun would be setting, say, around 9.30-9.45 
and rising possibly about 5.30. These are times in BST, not GMT. I 
haven't got a sunset table to hand so I'm working from memory.
