Voldemorts obsession with purity would make most 
people assume he was in Slytherin.  Plus, he probably 
exhibited quite a bit of "Slytherin Pride".
His former identity is something of a secret, but 
his house affliation probably isn't.  Besides, the 
guy is a parselmouth, with a pet snape and snape-eyes.  
All of that combined with his pureblood obsession
screams Slytherin.
