Now Neri:
Nice theory, but that part about Quirrell still being alive is not
likely. We all saw him breaking into thousand pieces in the movie. It
didn't look like something unicorn blood or even the elixir of life
could fix. I know, I know, <ducks and runs for cover under a torrent
of rotten pumpkins> we are talking about the *books* and the movies
are *not* the books and they are *not* canon, but we also know that
JKR inspects the movies and authorizes everything, so they would not
stray too far from the books. If JKR was planning to spring Quirrell
on us again in later books, she would have tipped WB to keep
Quirrell's end off stage.

The rest of the theory does not depend in any way on Quirrell being
alive, so it still floats well enough by me.
