Just to clear up something that you may have misunderstood.  I wasn't 
asking if there were any other *spells* specifically.  I was asking 
if there were any other *ways* to put someone under your control i.e. 
the veritaserum, where the effect is you can't help but answer 
questions with the truth even if you don't want to, and as cbca1126 
(thanks, btw) pointed out, Tom Riddle managed to get Ginny under his 
control in CoS and he did so without a wand or body.  (Which now 
makes me curious...how *did* Riddle do that?)

I completely agree with you that there is no need to duplicate a 
spell.  It would be kind of...well, stupid, really, wouldn't it?  


so, ARE there any other possible ways to go about controlling 
someone's mind/actions?  (Besides the ones already mentioned.)
