Even if this should turn out to be true, I really can't
believe it has escaped Draco's notice that nobody else
uses the term in this manner.
Many of Draco's "nasty" deeds can be somehow explained away,
or excused, but the sheer amount of it, and the way they are
described, make me think Draco *enjoys* himself.
Unless you think Draco is stupid, he can't have missed some
of the things that are going on in his world, even if he
never met another kid before coming to Hogwarts, and only
heard the mean things his father spouted.
There are muggle-borns in Hogwarts, and he should have
noticed that most other people accept them and don't call
them "mudblood" on a regular basis, just as a descriptive
term.
Draco goes out of his way to be mean. And he doesn't do
anything good to outweigh his acts.
If we had a few honestly nice things to point to, I might
feel differently, but so far JKR has chosen to portray him
as a very unlikable character.
We should be seeing him start to question a few things very,
very soon. Otherwise, maybe he *is* embracing his father's
values.
Though I have to admit to thinking Draco doesn't have much of a
backbone. He might not turn out to be DE material.
He might happily be an informant for LV, but realize the
rewards are not quite like he imagined, especially if the
information displeases the master.
He could turn out like Pettigrew, then, or decide to fight
against LV, though I have a feeling that Draco on his own
would rather fade into the background than take a definite
stand.
He *was* unfortunate to end up with Lucius as his father,
but he does have a choice, and the older he gets, the more
his own views should take over.
If all kids ended up being carbon copies of their parents,
it would be different, but that's definitely not the case.
Other characters you mentioned have done or said less than admirable
things occasionally, but they haven't made a habit of it,
like Draco.
