In response to Cindy and Kristin:

SeventhSqueal replies:

I think that things are going to remain consistently twisty, plot-
wise and that JK Rowling is clever enough to throw very new surprises
at us throughout the entire series.

SeventhSqueals' theories of possible twisty plot outcomes through
book 7:

Specifically, I theorize that Voldemort has been relatively
neutralized now that he has resurfaced and been resurrected with the
aid of Harry Potter's blood. Voldemort might continue to be the
obvious boogeyman for the next two books, but I think that another
villain will step out of the shadows to eclipse the fear inspired by
Voldemort.

Ultimately, I believe that a conspiracy will center around Lucius
Malfoy, with the aid of Fudge and aid or seeming aid of Snape.
Quirrel was involved in this conspiracy at one point before he
switched over and was possessed by Voldemort. Hence, Snape and
Quirrel's confrontation in the dark forest in book one. Snape wasn't
talking about Quirrel's loyalties lying with Voldemort or Dumbledore,
but with a third party.

The conspiracy that I suggest required at one point taking over the
school (see Malfoy's behavior in book 2) and the removal of Albus
Dumbledore as it's headmaster. It might still be their goal, but
Malfoy has been removed as a school governor and the events of POA
and GOF have stalled their work further. Perhaps the Slytherin
contingent intended to prepare the school for the 2nd coming of the
quantum entity Salazar Slytherin, if it is true that Voldemort is his
last surviving ANCESTOR. Is Salazar walking the earth or is he yet to
be born?

I suggest that Salazar Slytherin has been born and resides in a
descendent of Voldemort or was transferred to someone by a descendent
of Voldemort. In any case Salazar Slytherin is now living in Harry
Potter. This is why Voldemort was thwarted on the night of the death
of Harry's parents. This is also supported by Harry's problem with
the sorting hat. The sorting hat said that "Slytherin can help you on
your way to greatness. It's all here in your head." The hat wasn't
talking about the House of Slytherin it was talking about the wizard
Slytherin. In the second book Harry is fretting over the sorting
again and a voice inside his head, probably Slytherin's, responds to
him.

Snape might have been the original host for Salazar but transferred
him to the infant Harry in order to neutralize Voldemort when
Voldemort tried to kill him. The lightning bolt on Harry's head might
actually be an angular "S" or an "SS". Snape had Salazar because he
was either raised by Voldemort to be his protege or was actually his
biological son. Snape was at the Potter house on the fateful evening
partially because James saved him from mortal peril at the Shrieking
Shack. (The whole shreiking shack incident was a plot masterminded by
Dumbledore to neutralize Voldemort's son/protege, Snape, by binding
Snape to James magically through life-debt and it's psychic
connection. This would have made Snape hopping mad and desperate to
nullify the magical bond.)

Back to the Malfoy conspiracy:

Snape and Malfoy (at least) know that Harry is harboring Slytherin.
This is why Snape has saved his life on at least one occasion. Malfoy
knows about it, knew that things were going to get very dangerous at
the school in Harry's second year and sent his house elf to prevent
Harry from going to Hogwarts. Snape tries his best to get Harry
expelled when he arrives by flying car. Later in the same book, Snape
deliberately 'outs' Harry as a parselmouth during the dueling club by
coaching Draco to cast a serpent at him. He did this to blanket more
suspicion on Harry Potter as the heir of slytherin and hopefully get
him expelled. I suspect that they intend to crack open Harry's head
some day like a sulfurous egg and let the malignant Salazar Slytherin
of legend come oozing out. They intend to sacrifice Harry.

Unfortunately, for them prophecy will not be fulfilled in the way
that they expect, and the entire history of the House of Slytherin
will be altered, much to the pleasure of Albus Dumbledore, who sighs
with great contentment as he wiggles his toes in a pair of warm new
socks.
