Maybe they like her despite it?

After all, they *were* quite put off by her personality, and
they were not the only ones, since Hermione doesn't seem to
have any other friends at this point, either (AFAIK).

Things change after the troll incident, but it doesn't mean
they now *like* every part of each others' personalities.

Hermione doesn't like Ron's and Harry's procrastination
tendencies, and Harry and Ron still don't like to be bossed
around all that much.

They all know each other much better now, and have learned
how to disagree with each other better.

They've looked past the wall of general dislike and have
found plenty of things to like, which offsets the few things
they still don't like about each other.

Maybe Hermione would be ecstatic, if Ron and Harry all of
a sudden did their homework thoroughly, without delay,
and talked less about Quidditch, joined spew and supported her
enthusiastically, started reading all the books she loves so
much and didn't need her to pass on her vast book knowledge anymore...
But maybe she wouldn't. Maybe she'd wonder who had taken
over her friends' bodies, and maybe she'd feel she wasn't
really needed as much anymore...

And I'm pretty sure Ron and Harry would be mighty suspicious
if Hermione all of a sudden became really laid back, didn't
care about her schoolwork much anymore and stopped pushing
them to do theirs and became soft-spoken, accepting and
patient...

The good thing about friendship is that you don't have to be
perfect, that you've become comfortable with each other and
can be yourself.
