What makes you think Harry lives?

Yeah, well she's a tricky little snipe. She wants us to think Ron'll 
die; she said something like, "Everyone thinks I'll kill Ron off 
because he's the best friend and they've seen so many movies where 
the best friend gets offed. Of course, I could be double-bluffing..."

Obviously, if Harry dies it'll be at the very end of the 7th book, 
because he's the constant PoV character, and what would the cover art 
look like on Book 7 if he's offed in Book 6? Wouldn't it be a bit of 
a giveaway if Harry isn't on his own book, not to mention the 
problems of calling it "Harry Potter"... Anyway, in GoF it keeps 
discussing his future career. Keeps. As opposed to a passing sadistic 
reference like, "That'll be something to tell your grandkids about, 
eh, Ced?" And there's an epilogue to discuss these future careers.

You just don't kill off your main characters in books not meant for 
the stage.
