I personally don't think there is any doubt that Harry lives if for no other reason than that this series was written for a younger audience! (It's just a testiment to it's quality that us older folks love it too!) I don't think after leading everybody through the 7 years of trails and tribulations of Harry Potter, the author is going to cause the trama and consternation in the readers by killing him off!

Hasn't Rowling said that she didn't write HP with any particular audience in mind?

Becky:
Heck, even The Lord of the Rings didn't really kill Frodo off like that (he just sailed off for the paradise of the havens after a while) and that was intended for a different audience then this origionally was.  It may make for a great Greek tragedy, but I'll bet the store Harry Potter lives!

Frodo did worse. He failed in his quest and /lived/. >_>
