I am also biased because I was the girl who always had the
crushes. I want Ginny to win one for me. It would be very satisfying
if Harry starts to notice Ginny in a different way. Even if he
doesn't, though, I still like Ginny and would like to see more of her
character in OoP. I'd like to see her prove herself, once and for
all.

Absolutely! Ginny reacted as any 10 year old would when she realized that
dark haired kid they ran into at the train station was somebody FAMOUS!!!
(the following would be my reaction if I were Ginny and still 10 years old --
that or I'd be tongue tied with shyness but having this conversation
inwardly!) "OOOOO, just look at him! Do you see him? (pointing madly!)
He's CUTE! And what a powerful wizard he is! OH! I've seen HARRY POTTER
and he's REAL and he's NICE and he's CUTE and he has a beautiful white owl,
and and and. . ." She only did a LITTLE of this which means she's a pretty
good kid, respectful and well-mannered. She could've dumped poor Neville --
what a temptation, with Harry asking her to the dance!! So she is honorable
too. She was under Riddle's influence, which would be hard for anyone to
resist -- Harry's the only one who's been able to withstand him when
Riddle/Voldemort has directed his powers at them. (I don't know how to say
that more clearly -- he hasn't had direct confrontations with Dumbledore that
we've seen, but I'm sure Dumbledore could withstand his powers too.) It's
amazing that a child that young and in her first year of wizarding school
could have maintained her sanitity and "self" as long as she did with Riddle
controlling her -- she DID try to tell Harry what was going on, so she was
resisting his powers. I want Ginny to become successful, happy, and a
stronger personality in the series -- I like her, I think she's going to be
somebody important in the Potterverse. JMHO. And I'd like her to win one
for me too! :-)
