Yes, i picked PS again this week and i was thinking of that!!
Well, i don't like the idea of him flying with no aid, it doesn't fit
with the rest of the book. Neither i like the bike being used
again...
One thing that came to my mind when thinking about this is how
Quirrel/Voldemort glides/flies in the Forbidden Forest towards Harry
when he is found drinking the unicorn's blood. But still, it didn't
make much sense to aply to Hagrid.
About Hagrid being an animagus... no, i don't think that is the
answer, it's too difficult.
But! Maybe Dumbledore (or McGonagall) transfigured him into some
flying animal, for this particular mission. Remember that Dumbledore
sent him, and was awaiting a response as soon as he got Harry. The
only thing that bothers me about this theory is that, if i recall
correctly, as an animagus the person has a clear conscience of
him/herself, but as a transfigured animal not so much. Could Hagrid
have enough focus as a bird to remember where he is going? Well, if
Viktor Krum could remember his objective when half-transformed into a
shark, then why should not Hagrid keep focused on his mission?
Just a thought....
