I was surprised by how many people didn't just automaticly say knuts
as "k'noots". Then I realized that I have spent a chunk of my life
here in North Dakota where there is a large Norwegian population. We
use Knut when telling Norwegian jokes when Ole (O-lee, not OL-lie or
o-LAY), Sven, and Lars have been used up.

So that's my excuse (Minnesotans are welcome to join me),

Ginger, who should probably explain that Norwegian jokes are told
*by* and *to* Norsks rather than *about* them.
