Tasha:
It puzzles me to no end that screams from the Cruciatus curse would come
out of Voldemort's wand during Priori Incantatem, yet we see no
evidence of the ill-fated Avada Kedavra. It makes me think that James
and Lily must have been killed after this happened, unless JKR
completely forgot to include the infamous spell, which seems
unlikely. So then who killed James and Lily? I've got my money on
Lucius Malfoy if this turns out to be correct. With any luck we'll
find out soon.

Me:
Stupid comp... Lost my email. Re-done!

I think the evidence is very clear that Voldemort killed Lily and James. First, we know it was done with his wand. Okay, you say, someone else could have used it. (Would Voldemort really bring someone along? Arrogant, prideful Voldemort?) Second, Voldemort tells Harry he killed his parents. Okay, you say, he could have been lying. (What would be his motivation to lie in those situations?) Third, Harry remembers his parents' deaths in PoA. Now, some people (I don't think it was on this list, I recall it being on alt.fan.harry-potter) have questioned the validity of these memories. I, however, believe these memories to be perfect accurate, early memories caused to surface by the Dementors' presence.

I don't have much of an answer for the question on where the shadow of that Avada Kedavra went. But how /would/ it look? It obviously wouldn't be the "ghost" of a person, like the other Avada Kedavra's. Could it have been one of the screams? After all, Voldemort was hit with a killing spell that didn't kill him, but did amazing damage--must have been painful. It's a possibility, anyway.
