Just one small thing I want to point out -
" ...One who I believe has left me forever..."
Not 'one who HAS left me forever...', but 'one who I BELIEVE has left
me forever...'. Big difference... of all the people he talks about
Snape (presumably) is the only one with whom he has left an element of
doubt. I will rephrase to emphasize the doubt, 'on who I think might
have left me forever...'.
I don't think Voldemort has written Snape off completely. I think
Snape will be given a chance to make a case for himself. There is
certainly the appearance that he does not hold Gryffindor's and Harry
in particular in high regard; in fact, evidence that he actively
persecutes them, and favors Slytherin's. I think he is highly critical
of Dumbledore in private and to some extent in public, so to some
extent he gives the appearance that he is not a great Dumbledore fan.
He seems to be very buddy-buddy with Lucius Malfoy, who will likely
vouch for him. The Sorcerer's Stone incident might get him punished,
but since Voldemort didn't reveal himself, Snape had no way of knowing
he was actively working against Voldemort.
I think Snape has a pretty good chance of talking his way back into
Voldemort's apparent good graces. I think eventually Voldemort will
take him back, but will always be a little suspicious of him, and may
even use him as a pawn as he plays out his little game with Dumbledore.
Just a thought.
