The quote you are looking for is in another chapter
"Dobby's Reward".

When Dumbledore and Harry are discussing what 
happened.

I have a fairly recent hard cover edition bought at
the end of 2001, I think it is the 44th printing, if
I am reading the #'s correctly from Scholastic.

Here is the text:

"You can speak Parseltongue, Harry," said Dumbledore
calmly, "because Lord Voldemort--who *is* the last
remaining ancestor of Salazar Slytherin..."

Thanks for the correction, and luckily, I'm still correct.  This edition DOES have the change.  It reads "...because Lord Voldemort--who *is* the last remaining descendant of Salazar Slytherin..."
