Hmm.  Here's an idea, then: what if Harry does die but remains in the story
as a ghost?  After all, there's already a teacher who's a ghost, so why not
a student?    That's a comforting thought.  Whoever dies might still stick
around.  That's going to be my mantra now. ^^

I'm new here and haven't had time to dive into the archives; my apologies if
this possibility has already been dismissed! ^^;
