Thank you for your thoughts and many congratulations on your first 
post;)I had forgotten Voldemort called Harry a mudblood in CoS and 
this leads me to think, as has been suggested, that the main point 
is that a person is a mudblood if they are *known* to have any 
muggle blood at all. If Haryy had not been famous, it is doubtful 
anyone would be able to pin him as a mudblood.
