Agreed. Is it just me, or are people jumping at the slighest twitch of any character in this book? I blame the "Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes" (GoF ch. 36, pg. 696 US first edition). That's almost certainly significant, but just because a character shivers, shudders, frowns, gasps, or smiles doesn't mean there's some hidden meaning in it; I think that JKR is just trying to make conversations more colorful.

Ockham's razor
n.
A rule in science and philosophy stating that entities should not be multiplied needlessly. This rule is interpreted to mean that the simplest of two or more competing theories is preferable and that an explanation for unknown phenomena should first be attempted in terms of what is already known.
