I haven't been following this thread to closely, but I want to make a
point that I'm sure is probably so obvious, I shouldn't really bother
BUT...

There is a big difference in terms of the emotional release and
catharsis between getting a little misty eyed and out and out crying.

I don't think getting a little misty eyed qualifies as crying, in the
sense that it is being discussed. 

This is a general comment to the thread and not directed at anyone in
particular.
