I still hold to my belief, but your idea is pretty good. Instead of
being a spy, Snape is a contact for a DE Spy who's cover was never
blown. Or as you imply, he may know DE's who have a very comfortable,
stable, and finacially lucrative life right now. They have to go back
to Voldie out of fear of death, but they might be persuaded to spy
against him in order to preserve their now comfortable lives.
That's actually a good idea. I'm still leaning in my own direction,
but now, based on what you said, I have some doubt.
Just a few thoughts.
