I noticed that too. I was excited for a while but then cooled off.
People use that expression, "five years ago", all the time to mean a
time period of anywhere from three or four to seven or eight years
previous.
It only counts if Dumbledore says something like, "I should have
told you five years, six months, nine days, and two hours ago."
