As everyone has undoubtedly heard by now, one of the two snippets of
OoP released by Bloomsbury today has Dumbledore saying:
"It is time ... for me to tell you what I should have told you five
years ago, Harry. Please sit down. I am going to tell you everything."
But the timeline of first four HP books goes from July just before
the school year to June at the end of the school year, and OoP takes
place in Harry's FIFTH year at Hogwarts. Five years before anytime
during Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts would have been in the year
just before Harry entered Hogwarts, sometime before SS/PS. How could
Dumbledore have told Harry anything BEFORE Harry entered Hogwarts?
Shouldn't that be FOUR years ago?
