Me: I think this is the best explanation. In the US, with all our
diversity (good thing) and all our political correctness (bad thing-
what about just plain common courtesy and respect for others?) we
tend to forget that other countries are not like us no matter how
similar we may be.
Of course, this only covers the adults. I think the kids' feelings
can best be summed up in the words of Ron Weasley in ch 11 of PoA:
"Oy! Presents!"
Christmas comes in June this year!
