what about Cornelius Fudge being sacked? He strikes me as prime 
retirement-bait. The Wizarding World is sure to be shocked and 
outraged when they become of Voldemort's return and Fudge's failure 
to prepare for it. Fudge reigns through a more or less democratic 
system, and even in the era of prosperity that exists through Book 
Four, his hold on power has always seemed tentative at best.

BTW, I dismiss the FIE (Fudge is Evil) in favor of my own acronym, 
FRUITLESS (Fudge Really is a Useful Idiot, a Tool of a Lord who is 
Evil, Scheming and Snaky).  "Useful idiot" was a term often used by 
Lenin, I believe.
