Seems to me like Ron and Harry behave pretty typically for their 
ages.  Adolescence is one of the most awkward, self-centered, 
thoughtless phases of life.  Harry and Ron do pretty well, 
considering. 

I thought the Yule Ball absolutely crystallized the jr high school 
social experience.
