Could it be that Lupin meets his demise when he can't get to his
potion, transforms, attacks someone (luna?) and has to be killed?

I am starting to think that Luna might be a werewolf herself, hence
the name meaning moon, and maybe the potions she mentions her mother
having worked on was one to cure her of being a werewolf. We know
Dumbledore has let other werewolfs attend Hogwarts and kept it quiet,
perhaps Luna is one too, I just think that is more of what might be
the case rather then Lupin having to be killed to stop from killing.
