<ME>  I agree.  But, this was so critical to Harry's growth and 
character development.  He has to learn to "look before he leaps", 
control that impulsivity and channel his response to emotions-after 
all Dumbledore implies that it is Harry's ability to emote (Is that a 
word?) which will ultimately protect him from V. and assist him with 
conquering V.
