I can think of two other reasons that they weren't all using AK 
constantly.

1) What if they missed?  It would be really horrible to a DE to have 
his curse dodged or to miss and end up hitting a fellow DE.  V would 
not be happy if his DEs accidently killed each other.

2) Imposter!Moody tells us in GoF that AK must have "a powerful bit 
of magic behind it," or something to that effect.  Assuming that 
there is some kind of magic energy force or mana (which is a common 
element of magic throughout its much varied use in fictional 
literature), the DEs probably do not have the capacity to perform AK 
many times without time to rest and replenish the source within.
