No less redeemable as a 15-years-old kid than Bully!James. The fact
that he doesn't have a Lily to help him out nor a motive to rebel
against his evil parents is hardly his own fault. If JKR wants to
redeem him it would be no harder than transforming James, if she
doesn't plan to then being a loyal son that he is of course he'll
just sink along with Lucius.
At least he is loyal and honest. You don't see him switching sides
for his own good like Peter, who in my eyes is ToTALLY,
unquestionably irredeemable.

> Actually, in a recent interview JKR mentioned that "I think you're
all
> getting too fond of Draco". Which is very interesting...does this
mean
> something bad's going to happen to Draco, or does this mean that
he's going
> to DO something really bad? I swear...her interviews always leave
me with
> more questions than answers.

It could also simply mean: Why are you lot identifying with a mean-
mouthed bully? Analyzing JKR's interviews makes my head ache.

> I for one have never been a fan of Redeemable!Draco, but it's a

How about look at it this way: If Draco by the end of the series has
not even ONCE stopped to ponder over his own actions, and just
believe in every word his dad says, what message would JKR be giving?
That Hogwarts is a failure as a school? Or that you are doomed once
born to a not-so-decent family?

Sirius is a totally a different case, for one he hates his family and
thus it'd be easy to hate the beliefs his family holds, for two he
was sorted into Gryffindor, the house of "decent people", and thus
was exposed to "good" influences. Sigh, if only Lucius and Narcissa
were super horrible to Draco! Then we'd probably have a little blond-
haired Snape =P
