Well, it's possible that he could have, but more to the point, why would he 
have needed to? Back then, Sirius was not wanted for murder, so he didn't need 
to hide out as a dog.  Further, I doubt he used his animagus form much at all 
after Hogwarts, seeing as how he was an unregistered animagus and if he were 
caught he'd be in *big* trouble, and certainly not at all for his work with the 
Order because DD wasn't even aware he was one until PoA.

But why he couldn't have used the Invisibility Cloak to guard Harry during 
the summer like Dung did is beyond me...
