currently working on a Hunks and Gits list using the same format,
assisted by the modest humor talents of yours truly and then
RachelBeth and I have a surprise planned after that) I thought I'd
keep the lists going.
I was thinking about all five books and which moments brought a lump
to the throat and a tear to the eye of a big macho man like me and
started wondering if others felt the same.
Here's mine, and Sirius' death isn't on there. Maybe I'm still in
shock.
{Snip}
* SS/PS: Neville gets the points to put Gryffindor over the top. I
confess to a touch of movie poisoning here, as the young man playing
Neville played the shock very well, but even the first time I read
SS, this got to me. I'm a sucker for a kid who hasn't done anything
right being the hero at the end. Gets me every time.
* CoS: You Solved It! You Solved It! The film ruined this moment, but
just the image of Hermione racing to the boys, giving them the
highest praise that she, as a 12-year-old girl, knows how to give at
the time, touches me.
* PoA: Harry finally accepts Sirius as an innocent man. The quot;you fly
as well as your father ever didquot; gets me every time too. I've been
dreaming about how Gary Oldman is going to deliver that line.
* GoF: Harry nearly breaks down completely on Molly's shoulder. I've
been dogging Molly really bad lately, but it's mainly because I
remember the woman who just seemed so perfect in this scene.>>>>>

Here's mine.
SS/PS: Both the Chess scene and the Hug scene. Ron sacrificing himself so that Harry can go on was both sad and heartwarming. Then when Hermione hugged him. How sweet! Oh, and when Hagrid came into the hospital wing at the end in tears and felt guilty because of his big mouth. Poor Hagrid.
CoS: When Harry and Ron were spying on the teachers during the end. McGonagall said that Ginny was taken into the chamber and her body would be left there to die.
PoU: After Harry and Hermione saved Sirius, and they were on the roof. Sirius had started thinking them and h/h were all like, "GO!" As for the sad tears, when Buckbeak head was sliced off.
GoF: Cedric dying because of Wormtail's AK curse. Then at the end, when Harry wanted to cry, but because he was a teenage boy, he didn't want to cry in front of Ron.
