> And DD made Tom Riddle the Head Boy
No he didn't~~ Prof. Dippet did. In fact, DD was the only one who had
ever suspected Tom Riddle, Riddle himself said so.
> And DD thought SB was indeed the mass murderer.
He might have not thought so he only had no evidence to prove SB
wasn't indeed the murderer. Not even once did DD ever mention about
the SB incident in canon.
> DD didn't suss out the truth about Wormtail, who lived in his
school
> for almost three years as a rat, either.
Wow, I agree with you that he wasn't so wise with Quirell, Lockhart
(ESPECIALLY Lockhart), and maybe Hagrid. But saying he's a bad judge
of character because he didn't know someone's pet rat was not indeed
a rat ^^;;?? Where did it say in canon that DD even had a close look
at rat!Wormtail?
> And DD never figured out he had three unregistered animagi running
> around Hogwarts for a couple years, hanging with his favorite
> lycanthrope, who he was supposed to be watching carefully.
You are getting off-track, this only means he wasn't 'monitoring' his
students enough(probably deliberately so), it has nothing to do with
whether or not he's a good judge of character or not.
> and he makes silly jokes and he likes lemon drops, can we trust
> everything he says and everyone he trusts?
No you can't *blindly* trust everything he says and everyone he
trusts, though in terms of accuracy of judgement, can't you see while
he isn't perfect he is at least quite good? At least no one was
portrayed to be better at character-judging than him in the books.
> In short, I don't trust Snape at all.
Why do you doubt him? I mean DD's evaluation aside... ignore me if
you've already listed your reasons before. I only really wanted to
correct you about DD making Riddle a prefect =P
