Okay I am just going to add my $.02 here. I have always disliked
Snape!! I usually support the baddies, I want the good side to
prevail but I have to add that a great villain adds to the story. I
do think Snape is bad. BUT, at the moment, I think he is fairly
trustworthy.
I DO think that there is some critical point where Snape defected,
but like most people who can easlily be defected, it will be easy to
defect to the other side. I DO think that at some point Snape will
turn back to the bad side but I think (for all you snape fans) he
will have 'good' reason. This reasoning I feel is going to be
humiliation. I think someone in the order will humiliate and expose
him and he will defect to the dark side.
As far as Occlumency goes, I wouldn't be surprised if Snape was
purposely not helping Harry, but I don't think this is the case. It's
clear that Snape has major issues with seperating Harry and James.
Snape REALLY views Harry as the second coming of James.
I think with Occlumency, Snape was just too appauled about 'helping'
James's son with anything.
