So, I'd like to see what Snape has created in his career. I'm sure he
has, but it would be nice to see.

Me -
I wonder if he isn't responsible for the Wolfsbane potion. Werewolves
clearly aren't well thought of in the WW in general so I don't imagine
anyone would invent this unless they knew a werewolf personally or were
commissioned by someone to invent it - with Voldemort rising again Albus
would want Lupin at his most effective (as one of the members of the Order
last time round). Perhaps Lupin's lycanthropy was used against him last time
(anyone know what the state of the moon was when the Potter's died?) or
helped foster distrust between him and the other members. Or maybe it's just
taking an increasingly heavy toll on him physically and Albus wants him in
tip top fighting shape. I could see Albus asking Snape to come up with
something and Snape (very reluctantly) agreeing. Only a handful of people
can make it (apparently) and since it's a recent invention one of those
handful of people *must* be the creator - which certainly makes Snape a
candidate.
JKR has apparently made comments about being surprised that people see Snape
as redeemed/redeemable and not to get too attatched to that idea - I wonder
if he's not going to be responsible for Lupin's death at some point - maybe
the slow build up of wolfsbane in his system is actually fatal longterm?
