I like this theory, but one thing puzzles me. In St. Mungo's, 
Neville's gran said something to the Trio about Neville not being as 
good a wizard as his father.  I thought that was embarrassing and 
unnecessary.  Do you think maybe Gran went out of her way to make 
Neville feel incompetent so he'd never think to be an Auror or do any 
other advanced magic?  That's still mean.

Wow, the things people do in the WW to protect their kids!
