I don't know if this has been brought up, so I apologize if it has. 
But I was just thinking that maybe the reason that it's considered 
Snape's worst memory is simply because he called Lily a mudblood.

I can definitely see the whole humiliation aspect and everything, 
and that's still a good enough reason to be considered his worst 
memory, but I would think that all of the times he had been in 
conflict with MWPP would then be considered bad memories. Unless 
those were in the Pensieve as well and Harry was pulled out before 
we saw them. I would think that James saving him would've been 
considered "the worst".

I just brought this up since JKR tends to make later important 
points from subtle details in prior books.
