Just some thoughts.  



And good ones! Who else remembers the descriptions of Snape's eyes 
from the very beginning? The 1st I remember is "Dark Tunnels". Dark 
tunnels...emptiness...the man is completely closed off and now we 
know how, if not why.

Melpomene--making a note to check on the Snape eye references in 
earlier books...
