Tom is strolling along the debris-strewn shoreline of Theory Bay.
Although still quite covered in various junk and jetsam, the remains
of the storm, the beach is being cleaned up...
<SNIP>, <SNIP>
I have nothing to do with Harry's destiny. He's not destined to
*anything* because he's Gryffindor's "heir," no, "He destined because
he was BORN AT THE END OF JULY TO DEFIANT PARENTS! Not an Heir, no,
not the long awaited descendent of Godric Gryffindor, no! <SNIP>
NEVILLE could have been the One with the power...
<Atropos G.> You are a talented raconteur to be sure-tears welled in
the corners of my eyes at this wild Fairy Tale. Fortunately I had
previously read the non-fiction record of events.
The coming war and final battles, etc. will indeed have something to
do with the Godric Gryffindor-big deal that the prophecy says it
could have been Neville-have we forgotten, he, too is a Gryffindor?
Ultmately, when faced with the destruction of all they know and love,
I feel we will see seevral Slytherins, past and present "join" with
the other houses. But, JKR has not wasted a lot of foreshadowing and
time establishing that Gryffindors will play a key role in salvation.
Perhaps she never meant it to be a single heir, or even an heir as we
assume "by bloodline" she may simple have meant that the forces will
be shown the way or led by a Gryffindor.
