D'oh! Just found that again tonight as I was reading to my daughter. 
I knew I had made mistakes.... And, as Constance Vigilance pointed 
out offlist, on p. 850, students were swimming in the lake, 
accompanied by the giant squid (hopefully swimming lazily). Ah, 
well, I was never a L.O.O.N. candidate. My husband is shaking his 
head that I spent as much time as I did!
