Have to agree. Haven't seen this in any posts I've read (granted, I
haven't read them all, I have a job and have to sleep
ocassionally.......) but has anyone wondered if LV has a very high
placed spy in the MoM in the form of Umbridge. I think she works for
LV and that will be revealed in the next books. Unfortunatly, I don't
think we've seen the last of Umbridge.>

Oy vey! *smacks forehead* Why, oh why does Umbridge have to work for
Voldemort to be a complete and utter bitch? The woman is a
power-hungry, bureaucratic, nosy, dishonest, sneaky, rule-breaking
witch. I've met people exactly like her and all of them were simply
being themselves. It sickens me, but there are people out there who
really want to bring others down, enjoy lying if it means someone else
will get in trouble, and will gladly ruin someone's career if it means
an advancement of their own. I am utterly convinced that most of
these people live right here in NYC and work for the Dept of
Education. Maybe some of the work closely with John Ashcroft, too.

Whether she works for Voldemort remains to be seen (and yes, this has
been brought up more than once), but I wouldn't like for JKR to write
that into Umbridge's character. It would defeat her message about not
everyone being divided up into good people and DEs. One does not have
to be a Nazi or a terrorist to be a bad person. Plenty of bad people
are running around and they operate all on their own nasty energies.

If I was Voldemort, I wouldn't even want such a stupid woman working
for me, as impressed as I'd be with that detention trick Umbridge had
perfected so well. Did anyone else recoil in horror at that scene,
btw?
